Airline Passenger Bill of Rights Could Get Boost From New Travel Woes

The new airline bill gives individuals on planes who have been either cancelled or delayed more rights. If the plane is grounded with the passengers on it for more three hours it allows the passengers to leave if they would like to. It also gives the air plane companies the responsibility to make sure the passengers of the stranded air lines get the proper food, water, and bath room facilities. I personally find it funny that we have individuals dieing in Iraq, and other big concerns. However our wonderful public and congress is more concerned with a convenience problem.

Congress has weighed in on Iraq - it has either refused or been unable to discontinue our involvement there, and certainly can't pass a law preventing soldiers from dying there; as well as continuing to fund the war at all points (because to not do so would be unpatriotic and not supportive of the troops). They CAN do more than one thing at once...or at least they can do nothing about several things, if that makes sense. I don't think it's really useful to refer to them codescendingly as "wonderful" every time they consider an issue that isn't "individuals dieing in Iraq". Airline delays and cancellations (such as the one last week) are a legitimate problem for domestic and international commerce, I don't see why they wouldn't address that if they think changes need to be made.
