Fiscal Pressures Lead Some States to Free Inmates Early

The idea of releasing inmates on the fact that it could save money somewhat aggrevates my mind. To know that these criminals are being released and not serving the full sentence they are given is mind boggling. What if these criminals that are released convict another crime? They are back in the same place they were before, which is using the same amount of money. To me, being released early seems more like a slap on the hand than anything else.

I agree that this is absurd. If they do commit another crime after being released, it will defeat the whole purpose of "saving money." The government would end up spending more money by convicting them again and putting them back in jail. Once again I do not know what the government is thinking. Its kind of like the checks people will be getting back from the government in an attempt to "stimulate the economy" when in acuality the majority of people are going to save the money or use it to pay bills. I think that the governemnt could use some help when it comes to budgeting and the economy. They don't seem to have a grip on a good way to "save money", and are just throwing it away but putting criminals back on the street.
