The dems responce to Dave Obey: A Champion for Wisconsin

I thought this was interesting considering the unexpected retirement of Dave Obey. Seems like they are in a quandry.

I'm not sure it seems like they're in a quandary, unless you mean they're in a scramble to find a quality candidate to replace Obey. It looks to me like they know exactly what they're doing here in describing the 7th district. By describing the district as committed to electing another Democrat because of constituent expectations, they're trying to empower constituents, flatter them into voting Democratic. I don't know who the Democratic candidate is or is going to be, but let's hope that they either have the name recognition or the ploy of the party works in dragging constituents over to the Democratic side. Obey made a similar statement regarding his constituency when the Republicans made claims he was retiring because of fears he was going to lose office. He basically said that he would've won and he knows that his district will vote Democratic. I think it waits to be seen, but either way I think the pump priming strategy is a smart one.

Those generic Part ID surveys are worthless. Until there is a candidate campaigning it is just filling an empty vessel.
