Illlegal Immigrants Receiving $600

This is my first time blogging, so please bear with me. I was watching CNN last night and heard that illegal immigrants will also be receiving the $600 that we would be receiving. I'm not sure if I like that idea. After that segment was over, I also watched the segment on how the FDA is underfunded. Hmm....that really draws an interesting conclusion in my head. How is it that we are able to give free money to illegal immigrants, but can't even afford to fund the FDA which makes sure our products are safe???

Not only do illegal immigrants get money, but people who pay no taxes at all. Where else can you get that kind of deal? This is nothing more than an attempt to buy votes and will do nothing to stimulate the economy. This is because people who do not make much moeny don't buy very much in the first place! The way to go is making the Bush Tax cuts permanent so more money stays in American's pockets. For those people who think we should pay more, as the President said: "The IRS takes checks and money orders" so feel free to send more at anytime.

people who do not make very much money are usually raised in that same culture of poverty which encourages immediate gratification. If given money, they will spend it.

p.s. how would the government reach illegal immigrants to give them money? If I were an illegal immigrant, I would want to stay off the radar of government.

I think that this will stimulate the economy, but only if the checks are sent out soon enough. timing is important

Re: "For people who think we should pay more...", I've always found it ironic that Bush implements tax cuts as a main part of his agenda while overseeing massive government spending increases. I'm not sure if that's ironic in the definitional sense or the Alanis Morrisette sense. One might argue that lower taxes also are nothing more than attempt to buy votes unless they are part and/or the result of an overall plan for the national government to run more efficiently. Anyway the rebates are only part of the package, not the whole deal, other parts of the proposal would have a more immediate (and probably more important) impact.

Why would we want to give the illegals living in the country money back, why dont you give the hard working middle class some tlc? They are not even paying taxes on anything, living here for free should I would think exempt you from recieving any form or kind of government assistance from a country that you dont even belong to!
