Is naysaying a good political strategy for the GOP?

Will being the party of "no" help the GOP down the road or is it a dead end?

Actually, Republicans did have ideas for the Stimulus bill, but were shut out of the process by Pelosi's new rules she is trying to implement in the House (http://www.cnsnews.com/public/Content/Article.aspx?rsrcid=41586). Obama also said he listened to Republican ideas, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that he did not take any of their ideas to heart. On top of that for the past eight years, what alternatives have the Democrats offered up to Republican ideas. Granted for six of those years Republicans had the majority of Congress. Outside of criticizing every maneuver President Bush made, I am unaware of any viable alternative that Democrats made. After eight years of being ridiculed I am pretty sure many of them are a little bitter and displaying a childish retaliation. On top of that, they are practically a "superminority" what else can the Republicans do?
