It will be interesting to see how this decision to keep Pelosi in power will play out. As the article mentions, it may be difficult for Democrats to regain more moderate voters with Pelosi still "at the wheel," and some Democrats' confidence in Pelosi seems clearly shaken.
Similarly, Boehner will be challenged with retaining the control and confidence of his party. As the article states, Boehner will have to work with the Obama administration in order to pass legislation while simultaneously satisfying the Tea Party faction of the Republican Party.
We talked this week in class about senority and how it plays a big role in leadership and committee assignments. We discussed how Newt Gingrich went away from senority from time to time. Why wouldn't the dems do this this year, especially with how the election turned out.
