This recent article in Politico discusses the upcoming elections.
In part due to the long drawn out primary season, and the lack of the
Republican Presidential Candidates ability to inspire and motivate their base, Republicans
are becoming concerned about their chances of winning the White House, and are
becoming more focused on winning the upcoming congressional elections, and on maintaining
their majority in the house. On the other hand Democrats are becoming more
optimistic than last year about their chances of maintaining the White House
and the possibility of a obtaining a majority in both houses. However, there
appears to be a consensus, an agreement between both parties that the 2012
elections will be a tight race.

This is a really interesting article. I had heard a quick blurp this morning on the news that several Republican Party advisors were sending the message to the RNC that they needed to lay off the Presidential hopes and fight the battle that they have a chance at winning, Congress. Watching the wind get sucked out of the Tea Party movement over the last 12 months just further proves that fact that large political movements often have a short 12-36 month shelf life. Either way, it is sad to see the debate in the media has devolved into regressive politics with the whole abortion/birthcontrol debate while our economy is just now starting to recover, our national debt is balloning and we are still making too much guns and too little butter to support the forgotten war in Afghanistan. That is all....
