Joseph Cao Loves the Obama!
I thought this was a good example of a candidate trying to appeal to the center. Joseph Cao, a republican congressman representing Louisiana's 2nd district is obviously appealing to democrats. It is also interesting to note that his website is primarily blue. More evidence of the battle for middle ground.

Although Cao has professed his love for Obama, it appears as though this won't be enough to save his seat. The second article reports that 75% of his district voted for Obama in 2008, and that all four of Cao's opponents are African-American Democrats.
Interesting article. I also remember, I am not sure if I remember the article mentioning it or not, but he was the one Republican in the House to vote for the health care bill. I am pretty sure he represents the district that includes New Orleans, which is still recovering from hurricanes and oil spills.
