Lawmakers Arrested

I guess those who make the law are not about the law. Five lawmakers from different parts of the country are arrested while protesting the expulsion of aid groups in Darfur in front of the Sudanese Embassy.

It may not be legal, but nonviolent civil disobedience has led to some of the most important social changes in history. Sudan expelling aid workers must stop.

It does not come down to whether what the representatives did was against the law or not. It comes down to what is right and wrong and what has gone on in Darfur for far too long is clearly wrong. Kudos to these lawmakers for taking the disorderly conduct or civil disobedience citation in order to bring more attention to what seems to be the never-ending crisis in Darfur.
