A little more PORK

Even thought the rhetoric if the 2008 campaign emphasized a need for the reduction of pet projects, earmarks, or pork barrels spending Congress has slightly stepped up their hypocrisy.

Elected officials want to capitalize on the public's disdain for pork, but at the same time, it's sorta hard to say to your constituents, "Look what I've done for you" when you haven't gotten them any pork projects. The voters want pork, so long as you call it chicken or something.
