Vilsack Out.

As I was posting a comment, the news broke that Ex-Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack is dropping out of the Presidential race. More on it in 20 minutes or so at a press conference. At least that's what they're saying on MSNBC in between the bizarre Anna Nichole Smith coverage. Literally, the AP wire posted this comment and only this comment.

Given the moderate trend reflected in the 2006 midterm election results, Vilsack’s policy platform is a bit more liberal than it is moderate, but he would still have a good chance of successfully running for a congressional seat in 2008. He must have been swept up in the zeitgeist of “the leader of the free world is blundering big-time, so I’m going to throw my hat into the ring.” Of course, his relative lack of star power relative to the Democratic presidential frontrunners who announced their own candidacy BEFORE any other Democratic presidential candidates did goes to show how far removed people can mentally be from a real situation until it dawns closer and omens of the actual outcome manifest. In this case, Vilsack’s utter lack of adequate campaign financing reveals the extent of how far he is from the median vote, which in this case involves at least the dimensions of prior governmental experience, pre-existing financing network, and name recognition (making for a multidimensional spatial model).
