McCain's MySpace Page Hacked

Yet another example of how the internet is going to play a role in the '08 election.

I think another major internet fad that is going to play a role in elections is youtube. Voters will be able to watch and rewatch any faux pas or scandal. Also, hackers can edit and add pretty much anything they want. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out and see how else the internet will affect campaigns.

The internet is having more and more effect on people's ability to gain information, right or wrong, and its beginning to be able to dictate how people see things. Another aspect of the press.

That's exactly why getting all your information from myspace is dangerous. I'm sure we'll see plenty of that garbage happening this election cycle.

Megan, speaking of YouTube, did you see that 1984 ad against Hillary Clinton? No doubt the internet is a tool with pluses and minuses in use by campaigns.

It's really sad that the internet could potentially be such a great resource to inform and educate people about candidiates and instead the internet is being abused and garbage is being shown to people. I think situations like this could mainly affect younger voters because websites such as youtube and myspace are very accessible and known to them. Hopefully, people will be smart enought to realize the difference.
