Senators ask Pentagon to investigate delayed Armored Vehicles

Senators Joseph Biden Jr. De-Del and Senator Kit Bond Re-MO are asking the Pentagon to launch an investigation into why a Marine Corps was denied a request by battlefield commanders in 2005 for blast resistant vehicles. The article explains how hundreds of US Marines have been either killed or injured by roadside bombs. Both Senators issued statements on the refusal by bureaucrats to deploy the blast resistant vehicles. The Senators say that the investigation needs to be done to find out why the delay happened and to insure that it never happens again. It seems to be a big deal that a refusal like this would occur when Congress continues to approve additional funding for the war on terrorism. This should never have happend because these blast-resistant vehicles could have saved American lives.

Investigations dont seem to be a strong point in american politics right now. The whitehouse set a precedent by refusing to cooperate with investigators because an investigation was going on. There are infinite excuses. This one is all about patriotism. When all else fails, wave the flag.

In some ways I completely agree with Jodie's post on how investigations are not going the greatest in America. Between the baseball invenstigation in congress, now the spygate investigation that will probably go to congress, and now this one I am really getting sick of investigations. The difference with this particular investigation is that this could involve American deaths that could have been saved if the proper materials were given to the marines in a timely manner. If the marines need something give it to them right away and don't wait around. Their over there risking their lives for you.
