Super Tuesday

Just a little reporting of the Super Tuesday results. McCain feels "confident" enough to call himself the front-runner, and Clinton and Obama results are split. Obama won more states, but Clinton won states with higher delegate counts (California and New York being two of the states with high delegates). McCain currently has 514 votes; Romney has 177. Super Tuesday has made it clear that McCain will most likely be the Republican candidate, but Obama and Clinton appear to be neck in neck still. Clinton has 689 votes and Obama has 582. It is still a close race between the two Democrats. Any predictions whether Clinton or Obama will win???

When I think about the race between Clinton and Obama, all I can really think about is the example that we used in class with the two different ice cream trucks out on the beach. With the two of them so closely related on so many topics it will really be interesting to see which one draws more votes. Whether it be Clinton or Obama how will they run up against McCain who obviously will most likely be the republican nominee?

After reading "The Space Between Them article" and learning about the similarities in voting records and interests, I'm not sure that I buy into all the hype that tries to separate them. Especially after learning about voting preferences and the spacial representation of issues in relation to stratigic voting, I'm having a hard time deciding whether this is a real race or if its completely predictable.
